Frisson Sessions
To explain how the Frisson Sessions were born, we first need to set the listener in context.
Jordi works at Bite It Records. Homero often drops by the shop. What unites them isn’t just music —they’re both musicians— but also their passion for listening to vinyl. During one of those visits, a record starts playing and Homero feels his skin tingle. Jordi looks at him and says:
“You’ve just felt a frisson.”
And he explains what it means: that shiver that only music can provoke when it reaches straight to the soul.
Meanwhile, another regular visitor walks into Bite It to buy vinyl: he wants to open a jazz hi-fi café in Barcelona, inspired by the Japanese jazz kissa. He talks about a trip to Japan, about a discovery, and an idea that begins to take shape. That visitor is Arnau, the future owner of Jaç Cafè, on Avinguda Diagonal.
Some time later, Jordi tells Homero the story of the jazz kissa: silent listening spaces, where music is the absolute protagonist. Homero is fascinated… and keeps thinking. A few days later, he returns to the shop and suggests to Jordi:
—What if we bring all of this together? Vinyl, attentive listening, silence… but also a space to socialise, share and enjoy.
Jordi confesses that he had been thinking about something similar for a while: a session at home, listening to a whole record in silence… and then opening the debate, the conversation, the glass of wine.
And that’s where it all begins.
The idea takes shape: present a record, listen to it in silence, and then create a social atmosphere, accompanied by good wine and quality local products.
When Arnau comes back to Bite It, he mentions that Jaç Cafè is open to hosting events. Jordi doesn’t hesitate: he tells him about the project. Arnau invites them to meet at the venue to discuss it. Jordi and Homero fine-tune the details… only one thing is missing: the name.
One day, at Bite It Records —of course— Homero asks:
—Hey man, what was that word you told me… when music gives you goosebumps?
Jordi replies:
—Frisson.
—That’s it! That’s what it has to be called!
And that’s how the Frisson Sessions were born.
Because Jaç has everything: the space, the sound, the spirit, the local product and the attitude. They meet with Arnau one morning and present the idea. He doesn’t just understand it —he feels it. The agreement is immediate.
Now it’s real. The Frisson Sessions are alive.
And the frisson… is waiting for you.
How do the Frisson Sessions begin?
What are the Frisson Sessions?
The Frisson Sessions are a unique auditory experience. We don’t just listen to music: we live it. We aim to recover the ritual of putting on a record, listening to it all the way through, and letting yourself go… no phones, no interruptions. Just music.

Why frisson?
We have identified three types of audience that connect especially with the Frisson Sessions:
General public
People seeking a different cultural and social experience. In a fast-paced world, spending 45 minutes listening to a record in silence has become almost a challenge… and an unexpected pleasure.Music lovers and musicians
Those who want to enjoy an essential record in the right environment, designed specifically to listen to it as it deserves. A space built to feel every detail.Collectors and audiophiles
In every session we offer high-end hi-fi listening with original pressings (USA, UK or Japan), whether first editions or reissues with outstanding sound quality. What we often can’t have at home becomes possible here.
Who are they for?
Because we seek that moment when music awakens something within you.
The instant your skin tingles.
That frisson.
